Project 48

This is the first time that this developer has used hollow-core slabs to construct a suspended slab, previously opting for cast-in-place and rib-and-block methods.

Considering the ease and speed at which we were able to complete this installation, we are delighted to learn that this developer will also use hollow-core slabs for its other future double or more storey residential developments. Coreslab will also remain the preferred supplier bearing in mind the high quality of service that we delivered on this project. A leading precast-concrete specialist, our capabilities encompass the design of the suspended slab and the manufacture of the prefabricated elements. These are transported to and integrated on site by a skilled and experienced team. Our team of engineers then certify the slab as part of our comprehensive turnkey precast concrete service.

Describing our system as a “spec-and-go” solution, our client was impressed with the very high quality of the suspended slab. Notably, this was achieved the first time round without errors that lead to cost overruns and delays. Moreover, weeks were saved in construction time, with work able to proceed on the rest of the structure almost immediately after the suspended slab had been installed.

“This is not the first time that we have introduced a developer to a more practical and cost-effective method of constructing a suspended slab and it will certainly not be the last. Our hollow-core slabs are the best solution for developers who are working to tight deadlines and budgets,” Clifford Mogale of Coreslab says.
