Project 35

“I was told that Coreslab’s solution is fast. However, I was never expecting my suspended slab to be completed as quick as this. My project is actually running significantly ahead of schedule simply because there were no delays on this aspect of the project, which is usually the most time consuming and requires careful management to avoid delays and errors. All of these concerns were eliminated. Coreslab delivered the hollow-core slabs to site; placed them on the load-bearing walls; and grouted them in place. The job was done,” Mr. Munwana says.

This project was supervised by Clifford Mogale whose team, once again, made very light work of the design and installation of the suspended slab. “This project required very little effort. We’ve had ample opportunity over many years to refine our processes to ensure a seamless installation. This spans the design of the suspended slab; manufacturing the various precast-concrete elements to the highest possible quality standard; and efficiently transporting them to site so that they can be installed by our experienced team of riggers. The idea is to have a suspended slab in place as quickly as possible so that work can proceed above and below without delay. It is not uncommon for principal contractors to start working at the next level of the structure only a day after we have installed our suspended slabs” Mogale says.
