Coreslab successfully completed the installation of 15 000m2 of hollow-core slabs for this large low-cost housing development in Polokwane. We also manufactured 92 precast concrete steps with a special reveal for this project. “Hollow-core slabs provided a faster and more cost-effective method of construction the concrete floor slabs. Coreslab installed the first hollow-core slab on 21 October 2019 and the last slab on 5 February 2020 to enable the principal contractor, Motheo Construction, to continue working above and below almost immediately,” Johan Muller of Coreslab says. The project is being driven by the Polokwane Housing Association and managed by Chiefton Consulting & Services.
