Project 41

Lucas Ngobeni was advised by his building contractor to use hollow-core slabs from Coreslab to construct the suspended slabs for the extensions that are being undertaken to his house in Penina Park, Polokwane.

“Based on his past experience working with Coreslab, he explained that hollow-core slabs provided the quickest and most efficient way of constructing a quality suspended slab. Needless to say, I was very well advised. The hollow-core slabs were installed quickly and efficiently by a very passionate team that demonstrated professionalism throughout. I particularly appreciated the fact that representatives of the team always arrived earlier than agreed to ensure that my project remained on track. They were committed to delivering a quality service,” Ngobeni says.

This project was managed by Coreslab’s Clifford Mogale. “Once the hollow-core slabs are in place, the building contractor is able to commence working above and below almost immediately. This accelerates construction time. There is no need to install and remove extensive propping and staging; wait for the slab to cure; and coordinate the delivery of construction materials to site. Moreover, there is no wastage of materials and delays due to the need to correct work. With our system, the job is done correctly the first-time round,” Mogale says.
