Project 30

Victor Matsemela approached Coreslab to provide a faster, more efficient and cost-effective means of constructing a 285m2 suspended slab for his new house in Driekop in Sekhukhune District Municipality, Limpopo. He reports that Johan Muller and his team delivered according to expectation.

“This is the first time that I have used hollow-core slabs, so I learnt a lot about the technology working with Johan and is team,” Matsemela says. “Coreslab undertook the design, manufacture and installation of the system. They are transported to site and placed directly on the load-bearing walls, so there is no need to wait for the slab to cure. This enables work to continue unhindered. I also saved in construction material, as well as propping and formwork required for other methods of concrete slab construction. The correct curing of a concrete slab is also another very important consideration. If undertaken incorrectly, you will experience problems with strength development and durability, as well as aesthetics. Working with Coreslab, therefore, gives you peace of mind that your slab will also be of a very high quality.

Matsemela also lauds Coreslab for the technical support that he received from Muller and his team. This helped to resolve any technical challenges quickly and efficiently.
