Following its experience working with Coreslab on this project, K20 Investments is now convinced that hollow-core slabs are the best solution for constructing suspended slabs for its property developments. Therefore, company representatives say that they will only use hollow-core slabs and, more specifically, suspended slab solutions that are designed, manufactured and installed by Coreslab moving forward. They were especially impressed by the speed at which a suspended slab can be constructed using Coreslab’s system. There is no propping and staging required with this solution. There is also no need to wait for the concrete to cure. Work can continue above and below almost immediately after the hollow-core slabs have been installed.
K20 Investments was also particularly impressed with the professional service that it received from Johan Muller who was deployed to this project by Coreslab. He was supported by members of the company’s technical team who brought important insights, especially with regards to health and safety, to this project. This is in addition to the extensive value engineering the team undertook for the client to improve constructability of a precise suspended slab. K20 Investments also noted the extensive work that went into preparing the site to ensure that the installation of the hollow-core slabs was undertaken seamlessly and, importantly, in a very safe manner.
